Lazy Days and Cold Nights

Oh hello blog land - long time, no talk. Did you miss me?

It seems as though my first semester in architecture studio was more intense than I had expected - posting my daily ‘grad student’ attire never even started, as it was crazy from the first day onward! And although the spring semester is supposed to be harder and is promising even more sleepless nights, at least there is this glorious thing called winter break which allows me to catch my breath and catch up on everything outside of the mysterious world called studio! Of course, this includes my lovely lovely blog :)

Just like summer, winter break presents itself with a whole lot of time to do a whole lot of nothing, and although I am somewhat inclined to sleep until 2pm and watch TV until everyone comes home, after a few days of that, I start to get bored. And what better way to banish that uneasy feeling of laziness than to start on a few projects? I have a lengthy idealized list of what I can accomplish this short break, but first and foremost (if I ignore the fact that I need to document my work from this semester..) I am focusing my attention on a game day dress for a bowl game that Boyfriend got tickets for. While I admit that football is not of any particular interest to me (other than when the Aggies beat Texas - whoop! - or the Bulls beat Miami), I do relish the southern tradition of dressing up for games, and have repeatedly been inspired by the amazing Natalie Kim. Her dresses are so cute, and I appreciate her originality in game day attire - because a school shirt and jean shorts became all too typical after Freshman year. I made a few dresses this summer, and I am going to try my hand at it again, with this Natalie Kim dress as inspiration:

(Much to the amusement of my parents, as I have sworn up and down that I will not wear these horrid colors, but Boyfriend warrants an exception)

If anything, the irony comes in an adorable form.
